Chandigarh-based Hartek Power is targeting to double its total commissioned solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects to 500 MW by the end of the current financial year.
“Timely project completion is a major strength in case of solar power, unlike long duration implementation period in case of thermal and hydro projects,” Chairman Hartek Singh told ET.
This year the company has bagged EPC contracts in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. “We have secured substantial orders in the first two months of the current financial year to achieve 250 MW,”Singh said.
The company successfully connected 50 MW solar projects in Andhra Pradesh that involved complete turnkey solutions and post-inverter works covering design, engineering, installation and commissioning of the power plant electrification and automation systems as well as pooling stations, he said.
Hartek Power has executed electrical projects, mainly solar, in 17 states so far. “We are eyeing new opportunities in South India in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other states,” Singh said.
He said the Centre’s move to revise the National Solar Mission target for 2022 last year from 20 GW to 100 GW has given a much-needed impetus to the industry, enabling companies like Hartek Power, which specialises in providing grid connectivity to solar projects, to grow substantially.
